China Environment Fund III Announces Successful Listing of Portfolio Company China Hydroelectric Corporation on NYSE2010-01-28, Beijing, China

Tsing Capital is pleased to announce today the successful listing of China Hydroelectric Corporation (“CHC”) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Jan 25th, 2010. The initial public offering will yield aggregate gross proceeds of USD 96m for CHC and will trade under the symbol “CHC” on NYSE. As one of Tsing Capital’s portfolios under the China Environment Fund series, CHC represents yet another successful overseas portfolio listing after the likes of Dongjiang Environment (8230.HK), LDK (LDK) and China Sunergy (CSUN). In August 2008, China Environment Fund III invested USD 20m into CHC and it was Tsing Capital’s first venture in the small hydro sector. As well as being the largest domestic independent small hydro resources operator, CHC is the first Chinese small hydro company to list overseas.

China Hydroelectric Corporation ("CHC" or the "Company") is a consolidator, developer and operator of small hydroelectric power projects in the People's Republic of China. Led by an international management team, the Company's primary business is to identify and evaluate acquisition and development opportunities and acquire, and in some cases construct, small hydroelectric power plants in China. China produces approximately 22% of its total energy from hydroelectric energy. The Company currently owns twelve operating hydropower projects in China with total installed capacity of 377 MW. These projects are located in four provinces: Zhejiang, Fujian, Yunnan and Sichuan. In addition, CHC recently expanded operations through the acquisition, pending government approval, of development rights to a 1,000 MW pumped storage hydropower plant in Henan.
